Site Info

Q: Why did you create this site?
A: I appreciate Radiohead's work very much and I think the care they put in most of the things they do is a reflection of the sincere and genuine passion they have for music. I think that they care very much about everything, from doing the artwork for the album to picking up particular effects and guitars. Playing music myself I've always been very fascinated and interested in the instruments they use and in the past years I gathered information about their equipment. Then Giovanna from [Just... Radiohead] asked me if I could write some web pages for her site about their gear and this is what I came up with...

Q: How did you gather the information?
A: I started to learn about their gear in early 2001 looking at many well known Radiohead related sites. I also like to collect shootings of their live performances which helps identifying gear. The final help came from having seen them live a few times in the last 2 years.

Q: Did you ask about their gear to their roadies and sound technicians?
A: No. Despite meeting their main stage crew I never asked about what gear the guys were using. So there's no need to fire them! ;-)

Q: Where can I buy the equipment they use?
A: Most of the stuff they use is vintage and/or discontinued therefore can be found only in a second hand status. The rest should be out in shops, I guess... :-)

Q: How Jonny does the "bang" in Creep? How to get Ed's sound in a certain song? How do Jonny's modular synths work?
A: Premitting that I'm FAR from knowing everything about them, the main purpose of this site is displaying and listing their current live gear: explaining is there only when very needed. The web is plenty of forums and boards where you can ask about these things (check the Links section). Anyway you can still mail me and ask, the answer will arrive (sooner or later, depending how many questions I'll get).

Q: And what about tabs and chords?
A: Same as above... Check the Links and you'll find what you need! :-)

Q: I'm experiencing problems with the layout of your site... What's wrong?
A: I'm far from being a decent HTML coder... But using Internet Explorer and setting characters size to "medium" may help in displaying RHG site properly :-)

Q: What about you?
A: Not much to say, really. My name's Franz (short for Francesco), I'm 20 and I live in Milano, Italy. I play guitar and keyboards and I study at university. I told you there wasn't much to say! ;-)
