 Fender Precision Bass


Colin started using Fender Precision
basses around '95.
During the OK Computer period a
sunburst model, probably from '72 and
 with rosewood neck
became his favourite bass.

Starting from late '98 he switched
to the left pictured '77 model which is still his favourite whislt the other is
now used as a back-up.
Colin now uses Dunlop Tortex .88 mm
picks and, according to interviews
from the OKC period, he used Elite
Stadium Series strings:
"They're great for
playing clubs" he said
.


 

Music Man Sting Ray
Nedsteinberger CR4 M


Colin's favourite bass in the early
periods of the band, a
Music Man Sting Ray
has been picked
up again in 2003
for Myxomatosis.










                                                 Colin adopted
this electric upright
bass
in 2003 instead of the
acoutisc one he has had since 2000.





KEYBOARDs

Novation Bass Station

This is the bass synth orginally used by Colin on Climbing Up the Walls. Used for the whole OK Computer era, its sounds were sampled around 2001 and played through the Roland PC 200




Roland PC 200 Mk II

Used since 2000 to play the sampled synth sounds in Idioteque and then for Climbing Up the Walls and Sit Down Stand Up. A Boss FS-5U Footswitch is used as sustain pedal.




Roland VS 1880 Digital Studio Workstation

A digital workstation used to playback recorded parts like the deep bass sound in the Gloaming.
